Katie Karl

I am a Nuclear Engineering Ph.D. Student at the University of Tennessee. I joined the Wirth research group in the Fall of 2023. My research interests include irradiation effects in structural materials for fusion reactors and high-entropy alloys. I previously graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering. During my undergraduate, I studied the sputtering yield of tungsten using LAMMPS and the experimental fabrication of SiC cladding. Outside of research, my interests include whitewater, backpacking, and reading.
