My research focusses fuel performance modelling of Tristructural Isotropic fuels (TRISO) fuels using the BISON code developed by INL. Throughout the course of my research, I hope to model and characterize the fracture behavior of TRISO particles under nominal and transient reactor conditions. These models will be used to determine expected/allowable failure fractions of fuel and the released fission products.
