John Barrier

I am a Ph.D. student studying nuclear engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I joined the research group Spring of 2026 and am currently working with Professor Blondel. My research interests include degradation of structural materials due to irradiation for fusion application. I previously graduated from Pepperdine University with a B.S. in Physics and worked at Marshall Space Flight Center as a systems integration engineer. In my free time I enjoy playing music and hiking.
